What is Traditional Advertising?

Traditional advertising means the old and well known ways of promoting a product or service. These include newspapers, magazines, radio, television and posters on roads. For many years these methods helped businesses talk to large groups of people at the same time. Traditional advertising is still useful today because many people trust these familiar formats. It helps brands build awareness and reach families and local communities.

But as the world moved online businesses wanted to understand customers better. Traditional advertising could not track what people like or which messages work. This created a need for digital advertising. Digital ads gave more control and more information but they also created privacy problems. People started feeling uncomfortable because their online behaviour was tracked without clear permission. This led to new rules that protect users and control data use. These rules moved businesses into the next stage called the consent based era.
