What is CCPA Tracking Compliance ?

The CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act), updated by the CPRA (California Privacy Rights Act), is a US privacy law giving California residents rights over how their personal data is used — including data collected through website tracking.

For CCPA tracking compliance, businesses must: tell users what personal data they collect and for what purpose, give users the right to opt out of the ‘sale or sharing’ of their data, stop using tracking data for targeted advertising if a user opts out, and update their privacy policy with all required CCPA disclosures.

Who must comply?

Any business that collects data from California residents AND meets at least one of: annual gross revenue over $25 million, processes data of 100,000 or more consumers per year, or earns more than 50% of revenue from selling consumer data.

  How to implement:

Add a clear ‘Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information’ link on your website. Use a CMP to capture and honour opt-out preferences and block ad tracking for opted-out users.

Seers.ai supports CCPA and CPRA compliance with a ready-made opt-out consent banner, preference centre, and automatic blocking of ad tracking scripts for California users who choose to opt out.
